A driver in a white Chevrolet van reportedly fell asleep at the wheel while driving southbound on Ward Avenue at 3:15 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4. The driver, who said he’d been working all night picking tomatoes, careened to the right side of the road before taking out a street sign and damaging a Chrysler car and a Ford pickup truck that were parked in driveways along the street. The driver was transported by ambulance to the hospital and sustained minor injuries.
