The Tigers have endured two straight losses after their victory over Golden Valley last week. The pair of losses came at the hands of Merced. Heading into their matchups, the two squads were vying for consolidation of the second-place spot in the Central California Conference. The Bears defeated Patterson in a make-up game last Friday, before defeating Patterson by a final of 6-3 to make it two in a row on Tuesday.

The loss drops Patterson to 7-3 overall in conference play.

Merced has taken complete control of second place, with a 9-1 record. Their only loss came at the hands of first-place El Capitan.

Patterson will now be tasked with fending off fourth-place Central Valley High, who, after defeating Atwater High on Tuesday, now own a 6-4 record in conference play.

The top three teams of the CCC are permitted to advance to playoffs.
