Tracy firefighters put out a fire burning in a building behind a home on rural West Grant Line Road near Mountain House on Wednesday afternoon.

South San Joaquin County Fire Authority crews were dispatched to a report of a barn fire on the 20000 block of Grant Line Road and arrived to find a burning shed behind a home. Flames rolled out from a section of the shed’s walls and smoke spread across the road.

California Highway Patrol officers and deputies with the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office shut the road down nearby. A fire department water truck delivered water to fight the fire as there were no hydrants in the area.

No other buildings were threatened by the fire, and firefighters had it under control in about half an hour. Fire crews stayed for nearly two hours to make sure all the embers were out and would not reignite.
