A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday, Jan. 14, for Gilda Emhoff, 93, a longtime local resident. She died Sunday at The Commons at Union Ranch Assisted Living in Manteca.
Mrs. Emhoff, a native of Samolaco, Italy, was a homemaker and lived in Banta 65 years. She was a parishioner of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church and a member of the Italian Catholic Federation No. 390 of Tracy.
She and her husband, Al Emhoff, were named Tracy Family of the Year in 1991.
Survivors include a son, Robert Emhoff, and his wife, Liz, of LaVerne; a daughter, Nancy Hernandez of Tracy; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are five siblings, Sergio DeBoni, and his wife, Tina, and Agostino DeBoni, and his wife, Palmina, all of Australia, and Ilde Vener, and her husband, Juliano, Angela Vener and Lina Vener, and her husband, Eugenio, all of Italy; an aunt and two cousins living in Tracy; and many other relatives.
Preceding her in death were her husband of 63 years, Albert J. Emhoff Jr., who died Oct. 8; and two brothers and seven sisters.
Wednesday’s Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, 163 W. Eaton Ave., followed by burial in Tracy Cemetery, 501 E. Schulte Road. Visitation will be observed from 2 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at Hotchkiss Mortuary, 5 W. Highland Ave., and a vigil service will begin at 6 p.m.
