A funeral Mass will be Wednesday for Ida “Idie” Kaiser Williams, 95, a native of Switzerland who was a Tracy area resident for nine decades.
She died Feb. 29 at Brookdale senior care facility.
Mrs. Williams was born in Einsiedeln, Switzerland, to Joseph and Ida Petrig. She came with the family to the Banta area in 1926, and Mrs. Williams attended Banta School and Tracy High School.
In 1941, she married Arnold M. “Bud” Kaiser, and they operated Alaska Dairy on Grant Line Road for nine years.
In 1950, the Kaisers became partners in Kaiser & Lindeman Farms in the New Jerusalem area. Mr. Kaiser died in 1960, and their sons continued the K&L farming operations in later decades.
Mrs. Williams married Robert L. Williams in 1965. He died in 2007.
She was an accomplished golfer, winning women’s championships at Diablo Golf and Country Club in Danville and Tracy Golf and Country Club. She continued playing golf into her 80s.
Mrs. Williams was a member of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, the Soroptimist Club of Tracy, Tracy Hospital Auxiliary and the San Joaquin Valley Swiss Club in Ripon.
She was an avid gardener and also enjoyed playing bridge and entertaining.
Survivors include three sons, Edgar Kaiser and his wife, Carole, of Fresno, Steven Kaiser and his wife, Sally, of Kona, Hawaii, and David Kaiser of Bear Valley; a daughter, Bette Kaiser of Santa Cruz; two step-daughters, Michelle Rinauro and her husband, Paul, of Findlay, Ohio, and Denise Crom of Knights Ferry; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are two sisters, Betty Robertson and her husband, Stan, of Tracy, and Alice Fisher of Tracy.
Preceding her in death where her husbands, Arnold M. “Bud” Kaiser and Robert L. Williams; two brothers, Al Petrig and Ed Petrig; and two sisters-in-law, Nita Wagner and Eda Mae Betschart.
Visitation at Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 S. Central Ave., will be from 1 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, followed at 6:30 p.m. by a Rosary service.
Wednesday’s services will begin a 10:30 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, 163 W. Eaton Ave. Interment will follow in Tracy Cemetery, 501 E. Schulte Road.
