Richard Anthony Martinez Jr. proposed to Alexis Rae Coffey, his high school sweetheart, on Oct. 10, 2016.
He popped the question at Disneyland with their family and friends around them, surprising his bride-to-be.
Richard and Alexis, both Tracy residents, graduated from Tracy High School one year apart — in 2009 and 2010. They met in high school and have been together for eight years.
The wedding will be Sept. 30, 2017, at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church.
Richard, son to Richard and Angela Martinez of Tracy, has two siblings, Ruben and Robert. His grandparents are Juan and Augustina Martinez, former Tracy residents who now live in Modesto; Mary Ruiz, a lifelong Tracy resident; and Fernando Ruiz of Stockton.
Alexis is daughter to Robert and Lorriane Coffey of Tracy. She has two siblings, Erin Coffey of Tracy and Samantha Coffey of Santa Monica. Her grandparents are Ellen Leyden and the late James Leyden of Tracy and Judy Coffey from San Lorenzo.
Richard is a manager at Safeway in Livermore, and Alexis works at the Gap store at the Livermore outlets.
