Hull Technician 3rd Class Christopher Weaver, from Tracy, relays firefighting progress of a simulated fire to his repair locker aboard the amphibious transport dock ship USS Green Bay on June 6 during a damage control training team evolution.

Green Bay was conducting routine operations as a part of the Wasp Amphibious Ready Group in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations.

West grad joins Marines

Pfc. Jonathan D. Price, a 2010 graduate of West High School, recently graduated from boot camp at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot in San Diego.

In 13 weeks of training, he learned the Marine Corps core values of honor, courage and commitment, along with essential skills for war.

The new U.S. Marine is the son of Ralph and Barbara Price.

Airman completes basic training

Airman Andrew J. Sanchez-Gama, Tracy High School class of 2018, recently graduated from basic military training at Join Base San Antonio-Lackland in Texas.

The eight-week program covered Air Force core values, military discipline, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

He is the son of Andrew and Morgan Gama and Beatriz Sanchez and Robert Delgatto, all of Tracy.
