Last week’s Remember When mystery photo showed members of the 1958 board of directors of the Tracy Junior Chamber of Commerce, commonly called Tracy Jaycees. Back row, left to right: Jim Church, Ron Strom and Tom Matthews. Front row, left to right: Des Wirth, Dick Brenton, Bob Weber, Woody Souza and Hal McCauley.

In the 1940s, ’50s and ’60s, the Jaycees were an active Tracy service organization composed of men under the age of 35. The organization held an annual Easter egg hunt in Lincoln Park and manned the Santa Hut in downtown Tracy, among other projects.

Today’s photo shows four young Tracy residents participating in an anti-substance abuse program in May 1993. Who are they, and in what program were they involved? (T-shirt hint provided.)

If you know the answer or can’t wait until next week to get it, email Sam Matthews at or call 830-4234.
