The top baseball and softball players in the area will gather tonight for the 29th annual All Star Classic, hosted by the United Way of San Joaquin and played at San Joaquin Delta College in Stockton.

The exhibition games draw players from 35 high schools, mostly from San Joaquin County, including nine softball players from Tracy, Millennium and Kimball high schools and 12 baseball players from Tracy, West, Kimball, Mountain House and Millennium high schools. All of them just completed their senior year.

All the local softball players will be on the South team.

They’ll be joined by players from East Union, Lathrop, Los Banos, Oakdale, Sierra, Sonora and Weston Ranch high schools. They will play against the North team, whose players are mostly from Stockton and Lodi.
