The 10-team all-star tournament for 8- to 10-year-olds begins this afternoon at Legacy Fields, 4901 N. Games will continue until July 7, or possibly July 8 if a second championship game is required in the double-elimination tournament.
The 9-11 all-stars will begin a four-team double-elimination tournament Saturday, including a 3 p.m. game between Tracy and Mountain House. The championship game will be July 6, with a possible second championship game July 7.
The six-team juniors tournament for 13- and 14-year-olds is under way at Monticello School, 1001 Cambridge Place. Tracy would have to move up through the losers bracket to get a rematch against Spreckels Park and then would have to win today and Saturday to claim the District 67 banner.
The nine-team majors tournament for 12-year-olds begins today at Neil Hafley School in Manteca and continues until July 7, with the possibility of a second championship game July 8.
The Tracy Gold team won its District 67 banner June 16 and has advanced to the Section 6 tournament. Tracy Gold will play Saturday at 3 p.m. at Mossdale Park in Lathrop.
Tracy Gold advanced with a 12-10 win over Northgate in the District 67 championship game June 16 in Salida. The game included a third-inning home run for Damien Muscat as part of a five-run rally and a two-RBI single for Bryce Anthony Payawal in the top of the seventh to break a 10-10 tie and secure the team’s victory.
