The Patterson Education Foundation gave away mini-grants of $500 each to three local teachers at the Patterson Joint Unified School District’s music and arts evening on April 26.

The recipients are Jennifer Sanchez of Patterson High, Angelica Gomes of Las Palmas Elementary, and Rebecca McDowell of Apricot Valley Elementary. Sanchez will utilize her grant for audio equipment, while Gomes and McDowell will put theirs toward their schools’ respective robotics programs.

Patterson Education Foundation raises the money for the mini-grants through an annual talent show and golf tourney. The organization will also assist in the “Let There Be Music” event coming up in October to raise money for the school district’s music program needs.
