Friday evening was a moment to reflect on the lives of Ayana Guardado and Kaya Durazo as family, friends, and members of the Patterson High community gathered for a candlelight vigil in downtown Patterson. The service began at 7 p.m. at the entrance of the Patterson Historical Society Museum. Those in attendance were invited to take turns speaking to the crowd about their favorite memories of Guardado and Durazo during the service.

Patterson High students and faculty participated in a memorial of Kaya and Ayana by releasing balloons in their honor during the Senior Sunrise event planned for the morning of Friday, Sept. 25.
