Patterson High’s track team was simply outnumbered last week when the Tigers hosted the Livingston Wolves in a Western Athletic Conference clash.
The Wolves used their numbers to rack up points in all four divisions of the meet. The Tiger varsity’s record dropped to 3-2, as did the boys jayvee thinclads.
Both PHS girls’ teams are winless for the spring.
The WAC league meet is this Saturday at Pacheco High in Los Banos.
Against Livingston, the boys’ varsity had two double winners. Tomas Virgin won both the 1600 and 3200 in times of 4:49.90 and 10:52. Tevita Kelepi placed first in both the triple jump and the 110 high hurdles, the latter with a time of 15.25. S. Campos took the 100 in 10.62 and the 4x100 relay team raced to victory over the visitors.
In the girls’ varsity competition, Janette Alvarez won both the triple jump and 300m hurdles. Princess Molina won the shot put and Aurora Gonzalez the discus.
Devante Imhoff grabbed first places in the junior varsity boys’ 100 and 200. His times were 11.46 and 24.68. Dylan Sabori-Lopez won the 1600.
In the junior varsity girls’ competition, Sofia Lomeli took the shot put, Brenda Rodelo the discus, and Michelle Ekwueme the 100m hurdles.
Both the boys’ and girls’ jayvee 4x10 relay teams outpaced Livingston. However, Livingston won all four 4-400 relay events.
