On Sept. 28, a letter to the editor containing a factual error about our former editor was published in the Press Banner.

The letter, signed by Sandra Jo Spiegel who has since retracted her statement, claimed that former Press Banner editor Barry Holtzclaw was fired from the newspaper. This is simply false.

Holtzclaw left the Press Banner on the best of terms, to pursue a position with more responsibility at another newspaper company. Management of the Press Banner still maintains a friendly relationship with Barry, who left us with positive feelings all around. We wish him well, and we apologize for the error.
