Harriet M. Gustavson was born in Fresno, California to Grant Marden and Bernice Gibbs Marden. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gus; son Richard; brother Bill; and sister Jean.

A resident of Driftwood, she had also lived in Pasatiempo for ten years, on East Cliff Drive in Santa Cruz, Spring Lakes for ten years as well as 10 years in Mexico. Always beautifully groomed and dressed, at one time she owned her own clothing shop. A swim suit which she designed was sold in Santa Cruz stores.

Hattie enjoyed living and playing golf at Pasatiempo, in Mexico, and in Boulder Creek. She played golf into her 80’s and loved to have a cocktail at 3 or 4 p.m. Her motto was “Eat dessert first.”

She also enjoyed having her nieces and nephews visit her for fun, giving them great memories while they were growing up. She was a cheerful, happy, generous person and was like by everyone. Son Andy said, “She led a charmed life.”

She is survived by son Andy (Deborah), grandchildren Kim, Brian (Nancie), Sean (Brandi) Ryan (Lindsey) and great grandchildren Joe, Jason, Jessica, Kyle, Paige, Case, Waylon, Rearden and six great, great-grandchildren.
