Hey, Patterson neighbors! As I write this article, it is a glorious morning out my window. We have full sunshine, little-to-no breeze and the air is crisp. In our backyard, the morning temperature was twenty-six degrees, the coldest morning in several years for us.

It appears that 2021 is shaping up to be at least as tumultuous as 2020. Tension and division are the order of the day on every front. It only takes a few minutes of reading comment sections on news articles and social media sites to see that hatred abounds. There seems to be no solution in the near future. Unity eludes the grasp of America.

At the time of the first Coronavirus outbreak, I thought that things would get better after just a week or two. If I think about it now, it was very naive optimism. Although we have stepped into a new year, it seems everyone is still enduring and going through the difficult time of 2020.
