The West girls battled back against Stagg High on Wednesday for a 48-37 win at home on Wednesday.
West junior Alyssa Febre took charge of the Wolf Pack offense to lead a fourth quarter comeback and erase Stagg’s 31-26 lead.
Febre had to be taken out of the game after she was knocked down while taking a charge from a bigger Stagg player, but coach Emilio Guzman said that just motivated the rest of the team to play harder.
West senior Sandy Barbosa scored 14 points for the night, senior Brittany Bem pulled in 12 rebounds and senior Kate Bell had eight rebounds.
The outcome put West at 1-1 and Stagg at 0-1 in preseason play.
Kimball 69, Tokay 21
