Lea Austin broke into tears as she tried to explain why she was one of dozens of people who marched through Tracy on Saturday in protest of immigration policies targeting the border with Mexico.

“I think we, as a country, are inflicting trauma on children, and I’m horrified,” she said tearfully as she stood in front of the Tracy Branch Library, looking at her two 6-year-old sons.
