A Mass will be celebrated Wednesday in Antioch for Estella Marylou Garcia Madden, 78, a Tracy resident for 27 years, who died Dec. 24 with her children around her.
Born in Colusa, Mrs. Madden worked more than 35 years for Oroweat Baking Co. She also worked at the local defense depot, at a care home and as a day care provider.
She and her husband delivered doughnuts weekly to Tracy Police Department.
Survivors include three children, Mary Donovan of Stockton, Patricia Gallo of Antioch and Ruthie Gonzalez, and her husband, Octavio, of Antioch; three stepchildren, Ralph Madden of Tucson, Kim Trimble, and her husband, Barry, of Sparks, Nev., and Lara Lynn Madden of Meridian, Miss.; a son-in-law, Manual Ibarra of Merced; stepmother, Agatha Garcia of Yuba City; 10 siblings, Ray Garcia, Raymond Garcia, Irene Powe, Richard Garcia, Elisa Gomez, Eloisa Hernandez, Michael Garcia, Sandy Rios, Allen Garcia and Judy Baldwin; 25 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Sidney A. Madden; her parents, Ray J. Garcia and Julia Rosa; two daughters, Loretta Ibarra and Margarita Vallejo; a son-in-law, Martin Gallo; and one sibling, Pat (Gilbert) Garcia.
Wednesday's Mass will begin at 11 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church, 1313 A St., in Antioch. A reception and celebration of Mrs. Madden’s life will follow at the Arbor Ridge Apartments clubhouse, 2400 Shady Willow Lane, in Brentwood.
