Services will be Dec. 13 for Gene A. Moore II, 53, a Tracy native who worked as a software engineer for Liveworld Inc. in San Jose. He died Saturday at his home in Scotts Valley.
Mr. Moore graduated in 1979 from Tracy High School, where he played in the jazz band, and he continued to play jazz trumpet. He worked for several high-tech companies as a software engineer, architect and user-interface designer. He was also a science fiction and movie aficionado.
Survivors include his wife, Sophie Moore of Scotts Valley; his father, Gene Moore of Tracy; a brother, Glenn Moore of Tracy; a stepson, Frank Gombos; two grandsons; a niece and two nephews; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Preceding him in death was his mother, Arlene Marie Moore.
A memorial service will begin at 1 p.m. Dec. 13 in the Fellowship Hall at Prophet Elias Greek Orthodox Church, 223 Church St., in Santa Cruz. The service will be officiated by the Revs. Tom Paris and Milutin Janjic and Dr. Stan Taylor. A reception will follow.
