A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Dec. 19 for William Ray Thomas, 72, a longtime Tracy resident and U.S. Air Force veteran, who died Sunday at his home.

Born in Sewanee, Tenn., Mr. Thomas had lived in Tracy more than 20 years. He worked for Valley Transportation.

Survivors include a son, John Keith Thomas of Arizona; a daughter, Fatima Irish Fullerton of Tracy; two siblings, Elaine Phillips of Florida and Everest Wayne Thomas of Washington; and a grandson.

Preceding him in death was his wife of 22 years, Angelita C.Y. Thomas.

The Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. Dec. 19 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, 163 W. Eaton Ave., followed by graveside services at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery, 32053 McCabe Road, in Santa Nella. Visitation will be observed from noon to 7 p.m. Dec. 18 at Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 S. Central Ave., and a vigil service will begin at 7.
