The Delta Charter High girls volleyball team is on a winning streak and chasing after the Mountain Valley League title.

The Delta Charter Dragons are on a five-match winning streak, making the Delta Charter team a contender for the Mountain Valley League title. The Dragons are 7-1 in the MVL, 9-3 overall, their most recent win a 3-0 victory over Holt Academy in Stockton on Tuesday, winning in a sweep, 25-19, 25-22, 25-16.

The streak also includes three more MVL wins: a Sept. 21 win over Lodi Academy, 24-26, 25-7, 25-11, 25-16, a Sept. 16 win over Stockton Christian, 25-19, 25-11, 25-21, and a 3-1 win over ABLE Academy, 25-3, 25-14, 23-25, 25-10, on Sept. 14.

The MVL win streak comes after the Dragons took first place at the Ben Holt Volleyball Tournament on Sept. 11.

The Dragons are more than halfway through their league season, with the only league loss so far to Tioga of Groveland in their first match of the season on Aug. 24. Their second match against Tioga was postponed and has yet to be rescheduled.

Tracy 3, Tokay 1

After a loss in the first set the Bulldogs came back to win three in a row to defeat the Tokay Tigers with scores of 15-25, 25-20, 25-22, 25-13 on Tuesday at Tokay High in Lodi.

Junior Chloe Lemons was Tracy’s attacking leader with 22 kills, and she also had two serving aces and two blocks. Senior Kylie Van Os added 15 kills, junior Jianna Palmer scored 10 kills and three aces and senior Ava Staas scored four kills and two aces. Senior Alyssa Cargill contributed 43 digs and scored three aces, junior Taylor Gardner had 24 assists and sophomore Ellie Hernandez had 20 assists.

Lathrop 3, Mountain House 1

The Mountain House girls opened with a win in their Western Athletic Conference match at Lathrop High on Monday. The Lathrop Spartans came back strong to win the next three sets, for scores of 16-25, 25-21, 25-9, 25-12 in Lathrop’s favor.

Sophomore Aria Ramesh and junior Skylar Jordan led the Mustangs at the net with five kills each for the night. Junior Sariah Fobert scored two aces in 14 service attempts and scored three kills, and senior Britney Robert contributed eight assists.

Turlock Christian 3, Millennium 1

The Turlock Christian Eagles defeated the Millennium team in four set on Sept. 23 at Tracy High. The Eagles won it with set scores of 25-16, 19-25, 25-18, 25-14.

Senior Madysen Mah-Bishop scored six kills for the Falcons, freshman Synia Hunt scored four kills and senior Sukhmani Dhadiala had three serving aces and 14 digs. Senior Chloe Babon contributed two kills and 12 digs, junior Emely Lijon had 10 digs and senior Alexa Garza scored two aces and provided seven assists.

Lincoln 3, West 0

The Wolf Pack volleyball team took a Tri-City Athletic League loss at home to Lincoln High on Sept. 23. Lincoln won it with scores of 25-12, 25-13, 25-10. Lincoln also won the junior varsity match in two sets.

Lodi 3, West 0

The Wolf Pack volleyball team played a close game at Lodi High on Sept. 21, but Lodi ended up winning in five sets, 22-25, 25-18, 17-25, 25-21, 15-11.

West’s junior varsity team also played a close match, with Lodi winning it 21-25, 25-21, 17-15. Lodi won the freshman match in two sets.
